Baptism Sacraments
St. Joseph Parish offers baptismal preparation sessions for partents who are expecting. We ask the you particpate in these sessions prior to the birth of your child. These sessions are intended to help parents understand the role they play in the faith formation of thier child, as well as help parents interact with other parents who are expecting. Eucharist "First Communion"or the celebration of the first Eucharist for youth is during the second grade. Preparation for this sacrament is done during religious education and through parent sessions to help children prepare for this joyous celebration. Reconciliation Reconciliation is an improtant part of our faith as it is through reconciliation that we are healed and able to participate fully in the grace that Christ offers us. Confirmation Confirmation occurs during the sophmore year of high school and provides for the youth to make a decision on thier faith. This is a time to aske questions and explore our faith mlore indepthly. This prcess allows the youth to make an informed decison and to take seriously thier commitment to Christ and to the Church. Marriage St. Joseph Parish blesses and honors the institution of marriage and the family with a thorough preparation for a Catholic wedding. Couples should contact the pastor at least six months before the marriage. Instruction is given by clergy and Marriage Sponsor Couples. Couples are also encouraged to particpate in the Engaged Encounter offered by the Diocese. Trained married couples will help prepare engaged couples fro a life of marriage. Couples discuss marital issues and concerns together in a six session format. For more information contact Anne Brosmer, coordinator at 482-4471. Holy Orders St. Joseph Parish encourages vocational discernment. We ask for the prayers of our parishoners for those who might be contemplating a religious life. We ask parents to encourage thier children if they feel a call to speak with the pastor and to discover if a life of service to Christ in the form of the Religious Life is for them... Annointing of the Sick The sacrament of Anointing of the Sick provides the faithful with spiritual, physical, or emotional healing. It is especially appropriate when a person is seriously ill, facing surgery or near death. Contact the Parish Center office to make arrangements. |
